Georgia STAND-UP Surpasses Goals Heading Into Final Stretch of Election Season
Atlanta, GA – As we close in on the final days of Election season, Georgia STAND-UP (GSU) is meeting and exceeding its voter engagement goals. They have met and exceeded their voter registration goal of 6,000 by nearly 200. Most notably, they have obliterated their goal of 8,000 phone bank contacts and are currently at 12,357 conversations. GSU continues to engage voters with their “Party at the Polls” block parties throughout Georgia, providing election advocacy, voter engagement pledge cards, and insight into the importance of utilizing our right to vote.
“Folks thought the record numbers in Georgia for the 2020 election were just a fluke, but we know that was just the beginning,” said Georgia STAND-UP CEO Deborah Scott. “We know that every vote and election matters, and we are working to ensure that Georgia voters make their voices heard in this election and beyond.”
The Georgia Strategic Alliance for New Directions and Unified Policies (Georgia STAND-UP) provides research, strategy, technical support, and resource development for grassroots community organizing and non-partisan voter education. Founded in 2005 as a labor/community partnership, STAND-UP has emerged as a champion of community empowerment and progressive advocacy across the South. A tax-exempt, 501(C)3 non-profit, STAND-UP has earned the Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency.
