Mayson Stalvey Crowned Miss Fulton County Outstanding Teen
Atlanta, GA - Last month, the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Program hosted their 30th annual competition and crowned two new titleholders that will move on to the next level in the Miss Georgia and Miss America pageant system.
Cristy T. Jones was crowned Miss Fulton County 2022. A native of South Fulton, she received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Spelman College in 2017 and a Master of Public Administration with a Non-Profit Management Certification from Cleveland State University in 2020. She earned both degrees with Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors and was a Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellow. Cristy is currently a 1st Year Ph.D. student in Education Administration and Policy at the Mary Frances Early College of Education at The University of Georgia.
Her experience in education helped shape her Miss Fulton County social impact initiative Ready, Set, Go! Career Awareness and Preparedness (C.A.P.). Partnering with 21st Century Leaders, Cristy will work with the organization’s partners to provide career awareness, career preparedness, and career exploration for young adults aged 17-26.

Additionally, Mayson Stalvey was crowned Miss Fulton County's Outstanding Teen and will move forward in competition promoting her Think Pink social impact initiative. Think Pink’s mission is to spread the message that breast cancer can and does occur in young women and that self-breast exams save lives. A native of Leesburg in Southwest Georgia, she is currently a freshman at Lee County High School. Upon graduation, she plans to attend the University of Georgia and then Emory University for medical school. She aspires to become a dermatologist.

“We are so pleased to have been able to once again host the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Competition and showcase these brilliant and talented young women,” said Dr. Jakita O. Thomas, Executive Director of the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Program. “As a former pageant participant, it has been a personal goal to introduce more women to the tremendous opportunities that exist throughout the Miss America system. I wish both Cristy and Mayson the best of luck as they continue their journey and am confident they will make a dynamic impact in their communities through their social impact initiatives.”
The Miss Fulton County Scholarship Program was founded on the desire to empower young women to make an impact on their communities and become a catalyst of change. Serving the Greater Atlanta area, they are an official local preliminary to the Miss Georgia and Miss America Competitions. Their mission is to empower young women to strive for excellence when pursuing personal and professional goals while becoming instruments of change within their communities.
